Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) - Adults

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is a common disorder which often persists from childhood into adulthood. People who are affected by ADHD typically show high levels of symptoms relating to poor concentration, disorganisation, impulsivity, hyperactivity and mood instability. It is a treatable condition which can be life-changing with the right care.

Jacobs Clinic offers assessment, treatment, follow-up reviews, reports and consultations for patients with ADHD aged 18 and above. The appointments are offered as video consultations or as face-to-face consultations.

Assessment process

Assessments will be completed as a pre-arranged virtual or face to face appointment. A full initial assessment usually takes two hours and consists of a general mental health assessment and assessment of ADHD symptoms. It also includes a review of medical records, obtaining relevant history from other sources and preparation of a full report.

If an ADHD diagnosis is confirmed, then treatment options will be discussed and finalised in consultation with the patient. It is likely that treatment will reduce impairment and improve the person’s quality of life.
